So I decided to create a basic seitan recipe that’s not quiteSO basic. None of the seasonings in this recipe would prevent you from being able to take it in different directions, like Asian, Italian, or Mexican dishes. If the seitan boils, it will get puffy and lose some of the desirable, dense, and meaty texture. The reddish color is from smoked paprika, which is completely optional, by the way.
